El Niño
El Niño is a when the south pacific trade winds carry less war water to the western pacific. From there the water near South America rises in temperature. El Niño occurs every two to twelve years. Due to El Niño changing weather it can cause natural disasters in places that wouldn't normally get them. El Niño can cause flash floods and landslides in areas that normally don't receive much rain. At the same time it can cause droughts in areas that normally don't get to dry. Due to the fact that El Niño come every two to twelve years it can be hard to study and predict. El Niño can be followed by a La Niña which causes eastern pacific ocean waters to be oddly cold.
